Planning is starting next week for the June 2005 running of the unique 24 Hr 2CV Endurance Race Many people are already asking about plans for the 2005 race. That includes the teams that ran this year, new teams that have heard about it and want to get a place on the grid next year, the media and spectators. The planning process is starting next week. The UK motorsport calendar is complex, and dates are often not finalised until December. There is a 'trickle down' effect from the Grand Prix calendar, so nothing much happens until that is finalised and Mr Ecclestone does take his time. At this very early stage, the most likely dates for 2005 are looking like June 18/19 or June 25/26. That would be, respectively, one week and two weeks after the most likely Le Mans date of June 11/12. Many 2CV 24 hr people also like to go to Le Mans, so maybe the later of the two dates could be chosen. That might then bring a clash with Goodwood Festival, which soaks up many marshals. Race date planning is never easy ! Best suggestion is to take a look at www.snet24.co.uk or www.2cvracing.co.uk once a month, for latest news. |
